I'm looking forward to the event. Getting more ale and candy canes will be good along with the snowball arena.

this "wins the day" means "wins the match" and applies only to PvP.

I always love Wintersday, the quests are always great fun, and it's nice to see some new ones. Can't wait to see the new hats. Wonder if they'll announce the winners before hand, or if we'll just find out as we get them.

The return of two well-known Wintersday quests, which give you the chance to side with Grenth and his grentches or Dwayna and her snowmen before their final showdown. Unsure which deity to support? Try both quests to pick your favorite!

The return of two quest chains unveiled last year involving polar bears, reindeer, and devious presents—oh my!

Two new repeatable quests set in the (previously) Secret Lair of the Snowmen. Help save the snowmen, and all of Wintersday, or lead a group of grentches in for a final "bah, humbug" of the season; it's your choice.

Venture into the Underworld for a series of repeatable snowball fights against the forces of Grenth or the forces of Dwayna. Take control of piles of presents to insure your side's victory in this frosty fray.

For another dose of snowball mayhem, try out the PvP snowball fight. Random forces will unite within an arena to fight for either Grenth or Dwayna. The first team to gather five presents for its patron deity wins the day.

And, if you believe the old adage that it is better to give than to receive, try your hand at the city event game in Lion's Arch, Droknar's Forge, Kamadan, and Ascalon City during the festivities. Deliver presents to the children before the grentches destroy Wintersday. You never know, the little urchins might reward you with something special for your generosity.
snowball fight arena is back :P

I wonder how many times one can kill the dwarf in 10 mins/an hour/a day... you get a candy cane if you hit the right number

No xmas for Cathan again. Hopefully they will move the move the PRS NCP out of LA and put him in KC for Canthan new year, just to be fair. Better yet remove all the decoration and quests from Kamadan and LA. Could it be that hard just to keep up a few lights and stuff in KC, or better yet, just open the boardwalk while having it snow in Shing Jea. Not to have the main event happen in KC, there not room for the 9 rings, or the need for another 2 hats. Just give something to do in Cantha.

Omfg, I waited 1 year for this. SNOWBALL FIGHTS!

By far the best form of PvP. Also the ONLY form that requires SKILL to win, and at the same time is fun. (I really don't like dragon arena somehow)

You don't have people complaining: "LLLAME BUILD!", Everyone is happy, and people actually enjoy PvP for once

Imo, HA, GvG => Out, Snowball fights => In

Hardly can't wait xD

The problem isn't with people misreading it. The problem is with a very poor choice of wording on the part of Anet in regards to that phrase, which lacks clarity. The "wins the day" phrase could have been replaced with a much more clear and factual phrase instead. Even if your interpretation of it happens to be right, which it 99% likely is, you can't reasonably blame people for interpreting a poor choice of wording like that in a different way than you do.

The problem isn't with any lack of clarity, it lies with fininicky people who miss the true innocent fun intended.

Stop picking apart, suck a candy cane, and have a bit of fun, for Dwayna's sake.

Tyria and Elona have Halloween and Wintersday, Cantha has New Year and the Dragon Festival. Seems fair to me..

O-ho! What are these "repeatable snowball fights?" Because of the word "another," I smell a new bit of fun!!!
